Kuwait, located on the Persian Gulf, has cultural heritage dating back to antiquity.

Ruins from the Mesopotamian era can be seen on its Failaka Island, a former outpost of Alexander the Great’s army.

Failaka is just offshore from Kuwait City, the modern capital, home to the National Museum and Tareq Rajab Museum and their collections of ethnographic artefacts and Islamic art.
